Prof. Dr. İskender Pala
He was born in Usak in 1958 and he graduated from the Literature Faculty of Istanbul University in 1979.
He studied Divan Literature (1983) up to a PhD level and later became an associate professor (1993). Finally he rose to the status of Professor in this subject in 1998. He published various scientific, cultural and literary articles. He wrote study books about Turkish and Turkish Literature for secondary school and high school students. He researched in subjects such as History, Culture and Literature. He had a number of managerial posts in various organisations. He continues to write different articles about culture, art, and literature in a newspaper and various cultural magazines and is the Head of the Turkish Language and Literature Department at Kültür University in Istanbul. He is married and is father of three children.
